Triticum

TRITICUM is an association working to maintain cultivated biodiversity and promote food resilience in Normandy, from the Rouen metropolitan area.

The association is located in Saint Etienne du Rouvray, in the Champ des Bruyères urban nature park.
It is organized as a “Maison des semences paysannes et citoyennes” (farmers’ and citizens’ seed house), and in particular maintains a collection of the local cereals it grows.

The association organizes participatory farming workshops to rediscover the knowledge and skills involved in growing cereals and agro-ecology, from seed to bread, as well as educational workshops for the general public.

It is also working to develop professional local supply chains for the production of flour, bread, beer and whisky from local organically grown cereals.
TRITICUM also implements tree-planting projects, hedges and feeder copses to promote biodiversity and agro-ecological farming.
