TERRITORY: Global – Office Based in FRANCE (Paris office) – home office is an option
CONTRACT: Full Time – Monday to Friday

SOCAPS offers, to its’ wide range of industrial customers (manufacturers and final machine users) continuous assistance throughout the different stages of the machine life cycle, from the engineering stage (design, studies, supervision) to the production (mechanical construction, electrical cabling, piping and welding) and on-site interventions (installation, start-up, maintenance).
Over the last 30 years, SOCAPS has developed major experience in the food and beverage, cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors, mainly in the packaging industry. As such, SOCAPS is the world leader in technical assistances for constructors of packaging machinery.
SOCAPS integrates all the necessary skills (designers, project managers, mechanics, electricians, electro-mechanics, field service engineers, programmers, welders etc.) in order to offer its customers a complete access to a wide range of skills that are adapted to their needs.
SOCAPS is also widely present across France and throughout the world thanks to our network of technicians spread out across the main industrial worldwide hotspots and 10 agencies over 4 continents (Europe, Asia, America, Africa), in France (Rouen, Paris, Nantes, Grenoble), Atlanta (USA), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Singapore, Cairo (Egypt) and Cape Town (South Africa).

In 2016, SOCAPS closed its yearly global account with 35 M€ of revenue, 485 technicians in 40 countries.


In this development context, SOCAPS is looking for a TECHNICAL DIRECTOR in order to manage turnkey projects from opportunity to payments, including quotation, sales support, purchase, management, debrief & margin controls.
The Technical Director reports directly to the CEO of SOCAPS GROUP. For each project, depending the zone considered, the Technical Director collaborate with the Sales Managers & Sales Directors.


He / She participate to the strategy definition in order to target relevant industries (packaging equipment OEMs and/or end-users).
He / She collaborates with the sales networks worldwide to establish relations and contacts with targeted customers.
Frequent travels in Europe and the world must be anticipated.
He / She quotes turnkey projects based on the information supplied by the customer and help sales in its negotiation with the customer defining the negotiation bottom line.
He / She update the site manager assigned with project details before departure on site.
He / She identifies outsourcing needs and contacts potential local suppliers (pipping, wiring, handling, riggers…)
He / She follows up projects on a daily basis and establishes weekly budget follow up.
He / She approves supplier’s payments and supplies budget reconciliation at the end of each project
He / She manages post project debrief to develop a continuous improvement approach.


He / She assist the group in identifying key technical & technological trends (Industry 4.0, Digital Factories…) and helps to identify opportunities for SOCAPS
He / She trains internal sales team to technological trends and impacts.
He / She participates to networking actions to increase SOCAPS visibility within its industry by participating to tradeshows, publications, conferences, etc… regarding technical aspects.
He / She can also act as an expert consultant in technical innovation for customers.


Depending on its capabilities & Network, the Technical Director could also be assigned to a sales position role for a specific zone. Ex: Eastern Europe (Poland, Russia, Austria…)


SOCAPS will train the Technical Director to its sales methods and processes.
SOCAPS will integrate the Technical Director in the global Sales network of SOCAPS
Professional Expenses are covered by the company
One office in France (Croissy sur Seine) will be supplied to work in proper environment and/or home office is also possible.
The Technical Director is judged on his/her ability to develop positive Turnkey business for SOCAPS and Consulting sales


You are bilingual French/English. Speaking Italian and/or German is a real asset.
You have your driver’s license and a car.
You have a real negotiating skill and act professionally.
You are Independent, manage to work with objectives and handle pressure.
You have both a technical and business education, and an experience of 10 years.
You have strong experience in the beverage industry
You have managed turnkey projects in the past.
You have an experience of purchasing activities.
